France’s Nations League preparations have shifted again, with Zinedine Zidane turning to Maghnes Akliouche after Warren Zaïre-Emery was ruled out of the upcoming international programme.
Zaïre-Emery has not joined the French squad because of an adductor injury. The midfielder had started Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 Ligue 1 win over Marseille on Sunday, but will now miss the travelling party.

Akliouche, an attacking midfielder, joins the group as Zidane seeks to settle his options before a crowded sequence stretching from Turkey to France’s home fixtures. Both Akliouche and Zaïre-Emery play for PSG.
The change is France’s second of the camp. Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser was previously forced out, prompting the inclusion of Jean Butez, who is playing in Italy with Como.
France begin the run in Turkey on 25 September, then meet Belgium three days later. The squad returns home for the Italy match on 2 October and a further Belgium fixture on 5 October.
Zidane is leading France after taking over from Didier Deschamps following the World Cup, and the latest injury adjustment leaves him with another early selection decision before the Nations League schedule begins.
