Turin’s first trophy of the season arrived through a final that appeared to be slipping away, until Alba Redondo took command. The Spanish forward scored twice as Juventus Women recovered from two goals down against Roma, before prevailing on penalties to win the Serie A Women’s Cup.

Roma had built a 2-0 advantage and seemed on course to take the cup, but Redondo began Juventus’s response by scoring to make it 2-1. With the closing moments of normal time running down, she forced a penalty in the 96th minute, then stepped up herself to convert it and send the final into extra time.
Neither side found another goal during the additional period, leaving the trophy to be decided from the spot. Juventus held their nerve in the shootout, where fellow Spaniards Julia Bartel and Amaiur Sarriegi also converted, giving the occasion a distinct Iberian presence.
It is Redondo’s first silverware since joining Juventus and a striking early contribution from a player recruited to bring experience, industry and goals to the Turin side. On arriving, she said her intention was to “bring experience and work, contribute goals and win trophies.” Within weeks, she has delivered on that ambition in the club’s first major final of the campaign.
The 1996-born attacker from Albacete ended her Real Madrid spell this summer after two seasons in which she recorded 30 goals and six assists across 80 appearances. Juventus paid less than €150,000 for her transfer.
Her decisive afternoon in Italy also strengthens her case for renewed attention from Spain. Redondo’s influence has grown quickly in Turin, and her comeback-defining display against Roma puts her back firmly in the conversation around La Roja.
