In Trabzon, on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, André Onana has offered a glimpse of the recovery work accompanying his loan spell with Trabzonspor. The Cameroon goalkeeper shared images of a cupping therapy session, drawing attention online to a treatment carried out across much of his body.

Onana was pictured lying on a treatment table with dozens of cups placed over his back, arms and legs. Footage posted by the goalkeeper also showed small flames being used during the procedure.
Cupping therapy is used by some athletes within their recovery and muscle-care routines. The treatment leaves cups attached to the skin and is sometimes combined with heat, as seen in Onana’s video.
The 30-year-old is in his second successive season at Trabzonspor on loan from Manchester United. He joined the English club in 2023 after arriving from Inter Milan, but later lost his place before moving to Turkish football.
