French women’s football will step into larger rooms this weekend, with the fourth round of the Arkema Première Ligue taking place almost entirely in major stadiums. From Lyon to Nantes, clubs are bringing league fixtures to grounds more commonly associated with their men’s teams.
Major venues for matchday four
- Lyon will host Toulouse at the Groupama Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 18:00.
- At the same time, Le Havre welcome Saint-Malo at Stade Océane.
- Marseille face Strasbourg at La Meinau on Saturday evening, starting at 18:30.
- Nantes will meet Montpellier at La Beaujoire, also with an 18:30 kick-off.
A growing stage for the women’s league
The increased use of leading stadiums reflects the expanding profile of the Arkema Première Ligue and rising public interest in the women’s championship. The competition has also continued its development through the introduction of VAR, adding another feature associated with the top level of the domestic game.
