North London’s latest international break has carried an unusual footnote for Arsenal: Max Dowman, still only 16, has already placed his name alongside some of football’s youngest record-holders. The midfielder has played just nine Premier League minutes this season, yet his first-team appearances and one decisive goal have produced three Guinness World Records.
Arsenal went into the pause in second place in the Premier League, maintaining a strong start to their title defence, while Dowman continued to add to a remarkable year around the senior squad. His first landmark came in Prague on 4 November 2025, when he came off the bench against Slavia Prague aged 15 years and 308 days. That Champions League appearance made him the competition’s youngest player, surpassing Youssoufa Moukoko’s previous mark by 75 days.
His second record arrived on 14 March 2026 at Everton. Dowman scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at the age of 16 years and 73 days, becoming the youngest scorer in Premier League history. He displaced James Vaughan, whose record had stood for 21 years.
The third distinction followed Arsenal’s confirmation as champions for the 2025-26 season. At 16 years and 144 days, Dowman became the youngest player to win the Premier League, completing a trio of achievements that will appear in the 2027 edition of the Guinness World Records Football book.
England involvement adds to the break
Dowman’s progress has not been restricted to club football. With England’s under-19 side during the international window, he scored the winner against the Republic of Ireland. He was a substitute against Norway, then came on to create the winning goal as England defeated the United States 2-1.
For now, Arsenal cannot register Dowman on a professional first-team contract because he remains 16. His existing agreement with the club is set to turn into a professional deal when he reaches his 17th birthday on 31 December.
