London’s Emirates Stadium hosts an early Champions League meeting on Tuesday as Arsenal welcome Lille for the second matchday of the 2026/27 league phase. Kick-off is set for 16:00 Brasília time on 13 October, with German referee Felix Zwayer appointed to oversee the contest.
Arsenal arrive with momentum from both domestic and European competition. Last season’s runners-up began their continental campaign with a 1-0 win away to Napoli on 9 September, then recovered from behind to beat Leeds United 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday. Bruno Guimarães struck the decisive goal late in that comeback.
Mikel Arteta was able to bring Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, Kai Havertz and Ethan Dowman back into contention at the weekend, though Christos Tzolis and William Saliba remain unavailable. Arsenal are expected to line up with David Raya in goal; Jurrien Timber, Konsa, Gabriel Magalhães and Riccardo Calafiori across the back; Bruno Guimarães and Martín Zubimendi in midfield; Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Eberechi Eze behind Viktor Gyökeres.
Lille seek a European response
Lille make the journey from northern France after a narrower but more settled domestic weekend, having defeated Le Havre 1-0 on Saturday. Their opening Champions League evening was less encouraging: Betis left Lille with a 3-2 win on 8 September, leaving Davide Ancelotti’s side looking for their first points in the competition.
Ethan Mbappé will not be involved in London. The midfielder, and younger brother of Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé, was sent off against Betis and is also sidelined by an ankle injury.
Ancelotti’s probable team features Özer; Ngoy, Nianzou, Alexsandro and Verdonk; André and Bentaleb; Bakwa, Haraldsson and Perrin; with Ueda leading the attack. In Brazil, the match will be shown through TNT Sports’ YouTube channel and HBO Max.
