Barcelona’s Leaked 2027-28 Away Kit Features Lakers-Inspired Colours

Barcelona’s next away kit could carry a distinctly Los Angeles flavour when the club reaches the 2027-28 season. A leaked design points to a yellow-and-purple strip, drawing on the colours long associated with the Los Angeles Lakers and extending the Catalan side’s collaboration with Kobe Bryant’s brand.

A proposed Lakers-coloured away shirt

The reported 2027-28 second kit would combine yellow with purple in an overt reference to the NBA franchise. It has not yet been officially unveiled by either Barcelona or Nike, so the final palette, trim and other design elements remain unconfirmed.

If the concept is retained, it would bring one of American basketball’s most recognisable visual identities into a European football setting, while further connecting Barcelona’s shirt programme to Bryant’s legacy.

  • The leaked kit is intended as Barcelona’s away shirt for 2027-28.
  • Yellow and purple are expected to be the principal colours.
  • The proposed look is linked to the visual identity of the Los Angeles Lakers.
  • Neither Barcelona nor Nike has formally confirmed the design.

The Kobe Bryant partnership reaches its third season

The potential Lakers-inspired shirt would arrive in the final year of Barcelona and Nike’s three-season partnership involving the Kobe Bryant brand. That arrangement began with the 2025-26 campaign and is scheduled to run through 2027-28.

Barcelona’s 2026-27 away strip already forms the second stage of that collaboration. It includes the Kobe Sheath logo, gold detailing and a combination of purple and black.

A yellow-and-purple design for the following season would take the association further, with a more direct nod to the team where Bryant won five NBA titles.

Expected release window

The reported launch period for the 2027-28 away kit is between July and August 2027, when clubs across Europe traditionally begin releasing their new-season collections.

Until an official presentation takes place, supporters will have to treat the leak as an early indication rather than a confirmed Barcelona kit. But the suggested design would continue a cross-sport project that has already placed Bryant’s emblem and colour references on the club’s matchwear.
