Bayern Munich resumed work on Monday after a quiet October break. The club had no match during the 16 days of Oktoberfest and training was largely paused.
The sporting fact
Vincent Kompany began with the players who did not travel on international duty. Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah were back in Munich.
Luis Díaz was given time off rather than joining Colombia. Alphonso Davies was also absent after being allowed to take his honeymoon. Both spent the break in the Maldives.
Konrad Laimer and Lennart Karl were among those who joined their national teams later and maintained their fitness individually.
There is little immediate concern for Kompany over Díaz or Davies. Colombia face Peru overnight into Wednesday, while Canada meet the United States.
Michael Olise made a 30-minute substitute appearance for France against Belgium. Harry Kane scored twice in England’s 7-0 win in Croatia and is set to play again against the Czech Republic on Tuesday. Josip Stanišić is also due to feature against Spain.
Olise, Kane and Stanišić will return to Munich around the middle of the week, along with Min-jae Kim. The South Korea defender was rested for the recent friendly against Uzbekistan.
Aleksandar Pavlović, Jonas Urbig and Serge Gnabry will also filter back into the squad. Jamal Musiala has restarted individual work following his muscle-fibre injury, although his return date remains open.
Next Spieltag
Bayern, second in the Bundesliga, go to Augsburg before a demanding four-week stretch. A Champions League trip to Stavanger follows, with RB Leipzig and Arsenal then visiting Munich.
Nine matches are scheduled before the November international break.
