Brazil Arrive in Calcutta for Saturday Friendly Against India

Calcutta has received Brazil for the final stop of its international window, with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad arriving in the eastern Indian city on Thursday night local time. Supporters gathered outside the team hotel to welcome the visitors ahead of Saturday’s meeting with India.

Quick facts

  • Brazil play India at Salt Lake Stadium in Calcutta on Saturday.
  • Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00 Brasília time.
  • The squad will hold one training session, on Friday.
  • This is Brazil’s third match since the 2026 World Cup and their last of the current FIFA window.
  • Brazil drew 1-1 with Australia before winning the second match 4-2 in Australia.

The Brazilian delegation travelled on from Oceania after consecutive friendlies against Australia, beginning the post-World Cup period with a draw before responding with a 4-2 victory in the second fixture.

There is little preparation time in Calcutta. Ancelotti will have only Friday’s session to settle his plans for the host nation, and a substantially changed starting side is expected at Salt Lake Stadium.

Goalkeeper Pedro Morisco could be among the players brought in. Hugo Souza and Otávio started Brazil’s two previous friendlies, leaving Morisco in line for an opportunity against India.

The match closes Brazil’s work during this FIFA international break. It will be shown live in Brazil by TV Globo, sportv and getv.
