Brentford Report Rooftop Rugby Ball Incident During Liverpool Defeat

Brentford have reported a supporter to police after a rugby ball was kicked from a rooftop into the Gtech Community Stadium during the club’s 2-1 Premier League defeat by Liverpool.

The ball dropped close to the pitch and was removed by a member of staff. No injuries have been reported, but Brentford described the incident as dangerous and potentially harmful.

Quick facts

  • A rugby ball was kicked from a rooftop into the Gtech Community Stadium.
  • Brentford have made a report to police.
  • The ball landed near the playing surface and was taken away by stadium staff.
  • No one is believed to have been hurt.

Footage of the episode spread across social media, with the ball appearing to arrive from the cluster of tall residential buildings surrounding Brentford’s home ground.

The Gtech is hemmed in by apartment blocks, and the ball is believed to have been kicked from the Memento Kew Bridge development. It is a luxury residential complex overlooking the stadium.
