Copenhagen’s Parken offered Portugal a demanding stop in the Nations League, but the visitors left with a 4-2 victory over Denmark and a third consecutive win in the competition. Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the squad had dominated the build-up, yet Portugal found goals, composure and a new captain in Bruno Fernandes.
Jorge Jesus gave Fernandes the armband, while Rafael Leão wore Portugal’s famous No. 7 shirt. The captain was central to the attacking display, creating two of the visitors’ four goals on a night when Denmark repeatedly threatened to pull the match back level.
