CAS Hears Senegal Appeal Over CAF’s 2025 AFCON Title Ruling

Senegal’s African Cup of Nations celebrations have reached the courtroom as well as the streets. The Senegalese Football Federation has challenged a disputed decision by the Confederation of African Football, taking its complaint to the sport’s highest judicial body.

A hearing took place on Thursday after the federation formally lodged its appeal. The case concerns the CAF ruling that Senegal considers contentious, although no final outcome has yet been delivered.

The tribunal is now expected to issue the definitive verdict, closing a dispute that has followed Senegal’s continental campaign beyond the tournament itself.
