Claudia Pina Scores Four as Barcelona Thrash Real Madrid 7-0

Barcelona staged another emphatic chapter of the Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou, where FC Barcelona swept Real Madrid aside 7-0 and once again underlined the scale of the gap at the summit of the Spanish women’s game. A crowd in Catalonia watched Claudia Pina turn the occasion into her own evening, scoring four times as Barça’s attacking force overwhelmed their visitors almost from the opening moments.

The news from the club

Real Madrid arrived after a busy summer of recruitment, with hopes that this meeting might offer a closer contest. Instead, Barcelona had effectively settled it within the first half-hour. Pina opened the scoring after winning possession near the edge of the area, slipping beyond three defenders and driving a low finish across Ann-Katrin Frohms.

Madrid thought they had avoided a further setback around the 15-minute mark when referee Planes Terol reviewed a potential penalty for a hold by Caruso on Sydney Schertenleib and decided against awarding it. Barça did not lose momentum.

Pina doubled the lead before the half-hour, pouncing after Frohms’ defence failed to fully clear an effort following a precise Patri Guijarro pass. Her hat-trick arrived shortly afterwards: another combination with Guijarro created the opening, and Pina struck powerfully into the top-right corner.

Caroline Graham Hansen made it 4-0 almost immediately. After Aïcha won the ball, the Norwegian linked with Ewa Pajor, shaped onto her left foot and finished to send the Camp Nou crowd into celebration. Pina then completed her fourth before the interval, exchanging passes with Pajor, holding off pressure and finding the net again.

At half-time, despite the five-goal advantage, Pina’s message reflected Barcelona’s standards: “Let’s not concede any goals.”

Pere Romeu’s side had played a European fixture in Rome during the week, yet there was no easing of their intensity after the break. Pajor, who had threatened in the first half, added the sixth after Guijarro’s long pass released Graham Hansen, whose run and square ball left the Polish forward with a simple finish.

Barcelona then brought on Aitana Bonmatí and Kerolin, replacing Pina and Graham Hansen. Bonmatí, a three-time Ballon d’Or winner, received a warm welcome on her return; she had already made two short appearances in the preceding matches. Martina, Julià and Rosalia were also introduced.

The final goal belonged to Schertenleib. Receiving the ball outside the area, she set herself and sent a fierce shot into the top corner, leaving Frohms unable to intervene.

A familiar Clásico pattern

The sides will meet at least once more this season, with the possibility of additional encounters depending on the calendar. But Barcelona’s latest victory continued a striking record against their Madrid rivals: 27 wins from 28 meetings, 114 goals scored and only 13 conceded.

Across the last seven Clásicos, Barça have won every match and hold a 32-2 aggregate scoring advantage. For Madrid, the summer rebuild has not yet altered the reality of this fixture; for Barcelona, a packed Camp Nou again provided the backdrop to a performance of ruthless confidence.
