Cutter Gauthier has put his name on Anaheim’s long-term board, agreeing Tuesday to a six-year contract with the Ducks after a breakout second NHL season. The club did not release financial details.
Cutter Gauthier commits to Anaheim
The 22-year-old winger was a restricted free agent and arrives at training camp under contract after leading the Ducks’ attack in 2025-26. Gauthier posted career bests with 41 goals, 28 assists and 69 points across 76 regular-season games.

From Philadelphia draft pick to Ducks scorer
Philadelphia selected Gauthier fifth overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, but his path to Anaheim came quickly. The Flyers dealt him to the Ducks on Jan. 8, 2024, with defenseman Jamie Drysdale and a 2025 second-round selection going to Philadelphia in the exchange.
Gauthier’s first full Ducks campaign, in 2024-25, gave an early indication of his offensive upside. He finished that rookie season with 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in all 82 games.
A busy summer of Ducks commitments
Gauthier’s deal is the latest major piece of business in a summer when Anaheim has moved to keep its young roster together and add depth around it.
- On July 9, the Ducks signed center Leo Carlsson to a five-year, $90 million contract carrying an $18 million average annual value. Anaheim had matched an offer sheet the Flyers presented to the 21-year-old on July 3.
- Defenseman Pavel Mintyukov signed a five-year contract on July 5.
- Forward A.J. Greer, acquired from the Florida Panthers in a trade, agreed to a four-year deal on July 1.
- Last Thursday, Anaheim terminated Chris Kreider’s contract a day after placing the forward on unconditional waivers.
Kreider had one year left on the seven-year, $45.5 million contract he signed with the New York Rangers on Feb. 24, 2020. That agreement carried a $6.5 million average annual value.
