Dan Quinn Takes Blame for Commanders’ Overtime Final-Play Failure

Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn took responsibility after a breakdown on the final snap of Sunday’s overtime tie left the team unable to finish the game.

Quinn said the failed last play stemmed from an operational error, with the Commanders unable to execute in the closing seconds of overtime. He did not shift blame to players or assistants, saying the issue ultimately falls on him as the head coach.

The result was a tie after Washington’s final opportunity broke down, ending a game the Commanders had a chance to win with one properly executed closing play.
