The playoff field has been trimmed to four clubs: the Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians.
With those teams still standing, the next round will decide which clubs can keep their October run moving. The Dodgers bring their postseason pedigree into the group, while the Brewers, Rays and Guardians have each carried their own momentum through the bracket.
The remaining series will also put earlier playoff calls under the microscope, with the results so far providing the first measure of how those predictions have held up.
