Roma will have Donyell Malen available for Sunday’s meeting with Napoli after the Dutch forward received a one-match suspension for his red card against Como.
The decision
Malen was sent off during Roma’s match against Como, and the disciplinary ruling means he will miss only the next league fixture at the Olimpico.
Gian Piero Gasperini must therefore plan without his centre-forward for the home game against Genoa, who are managed by former Roma coach Daniele De Rossi. Malen will then be eligible again for the trip to Napoli.
Sunday’s picture
Roma’s visit to Napoli will come with Malen back in the squad, while the immediate task is to negotiate the Genoa match without him. The suspension affects one round only, limiting the disruption to Gasperini’s plans at a significant point in the Serie A season.
