Farès Ghedjemis Extends Frosinone Stay Until 2030 After Monaco Talks

Farès Ghedjemis will not arrive in Monaco on the terms discussed during the summer. The Algerian right winger has instead tied his immediate future to Frosinone, signing a two-year contract extension that runs until June 2030, while leaving the door open to a larger transfer in one of the next two windows.

Monaco spent a long period in talks for the 24-year-old former Troyes player, who had agreed to move to the Principality. Ghedjemis was among the two players closest to joining ASM, alongside Mexican midfielder Érik Lira, but a chain of transfer-market changes ultimately prevented both deals from being completed.

Ghedjemis remained at Frosinone, where the left-footed winger has made his Serie A breakthrough. Once the club knew he would stay beyond the summer, securing his signature became an autumn priority. The new agreement adds two years to his previous deal and is expected to make him the highest-paid player in Frosinone’s history.

A higher price after Monaco’s summer move

The extension does not rule out a departure in January or next summer. It does, however, significantly strengthen Frosinone’s position. Monaco had come close to signing the standout performer from last season’s Serie B for around €10 million; any future buyer is now likely to face a higher valuation.

After being left out of the squad for the opening two matchdays of the summer period, Ghedjemis has returned to Frosinone’s regular starting line-up. His club sit sixth in Serie A, and the winger’s new contract gives them both sporting stability and greater control over what may come next.
