French Justice Closes Kylian Mbappé’s Harassment Complaint Against PSG

In Paris, the long legal aftershock of Kylian Mbappé’s departure has now largely faded. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward, who left the French champions for Real Madrid at the end of the 2023-24 season, has seen his complaint alleging moral harassment closed by the French justice system.

The news from the club

The case concerned Mbappé’s treatment during the final year of his PSG contract. French authorities ended the investigation after finding insufficient evidence to take the matter further.

Mbappé’s legal representatives had initially brought the complaint before the courts, but the player later withdrew it. The file was closed in May because there was not enough material to continue proceedings.

The dispute began in the summer of 2023, when Mbappé informed PSG that he would not extend his deal. The Paris club did not want their leading forward to leave without a transfer fee, and the decision sparked a prolonged confrontation between player and hierarchy.

Mbappé was temporarily removed from the first-team group and spent several weeks outside the main squad environment. He was eventually restored to the side and resumed playing under Luis Enrique, who was starting his first campaign in charge in the French capital.

After Mbappé’s move to Madrid, the sporting disagreement developed into a wider series of legal claims.

The financial case is also settled

Separate proceedings centred on money withheld by PSG after Mbappé’s exit. The club maintained that the sums were connected to a verbal understanding between Mbappé and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, reached when the forward returned to the senior group.

Mbappé disputed that position and sought payment of the outstanding amounts. In May 2025, he opened legal action on several fronts, including the complaint linked to his exclusion from the squad.

The financial claim reached a different conclusion from the harassment investigation. A labour tribunal ruled that PSG must pay Mbappé €61 million, and the club chose not to challenge that decision.

With the alleged harassment case closed and the payment ruling now final, the principal court disputes between PSG and their former No. 7 have come to an end. It closes a chapter that began with a contract decision in Paris and concluded after Mbappé had already crossed the continent to Real Madrid.
