In Orlando, Gabi Nunes’ first American club spell has ended almost as soon as it began. The Brazilian forward and Orlando Pride have mutually agreed to terminate her contract, fewer than two months after her arrival in Florida.

Orlando confirmed that the departure was reached by mutual consent. Nunes, 29, was presented by the National Women’s Soccer League club on 4 August on a deal running until December, but made only two appearances.
Both came from the bench and together accounted for 16 minutes of football. Orlando lost each match 2-1, against Portland Thorns and Utah Royals.
The Pride are 11th in the NWSL regular-season table. Their Brazilian contingent includes Marta, Luana, Rafaella and Angelina, while Nunes now leaves before completing two months with the club.
A career across Brazil, Spain and England
Nunes reached Orlando after two seasons at Aston Villa, departing the English side when her contract expired. Her previous clubs include Levante and Madrid CFF in Spain, as well as Corinthians, Osasco Audax and Centro Olímpico in Brazil.
At international level, she was part of Brazil’s squad that won Olympic silver at the Paris Games. The medal was the Brazilian women’s national team’s first Olympic podium finish in 16 years.
