Odell Beckham Jr.’s return to the New York Giants has ended after only three games, with the club releasing the veteran wide receiver following a minimal role in its offense.

Beckham, 33, logged 19 offensive snaps during his brief second stint with New York. He was targeted once and finished without a reception.
The former first-round pick had faced a difficult path to the roster during the offseason but earned a place on the Giants’ initial 53-man squad at the end of August. His limited playing time showed that he was unlikely to have a meaningful offensive role without injuries ahead of him.
New York’s receiving group has concentrated nearly all of its wideout opportunities among Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. Those three players have accounted for every receiver target except one through the first three games.
Beckham also did not contribute on special teams, reducing the value of keeping him on the active roster. With Berrios no longer eligible for practice-squad call-ups, the Giants elected to use the roster spot elsewhere.
The move closes a short reunion between Beckham and the franchise that drafted him in the first round in 2014. He opened his first Giants tenure with three straight Pro Bowl selections and became one of the club’s most recognizable players, but a late-career revival in New York never developed.
Beckham is now available to sign elsewhere if another team seeks experienced depth at wide receiver.
