Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has found himself at the centre of a different kind of discussion, with images of a large new thigh tattoo spreading rapidly across social media.
The design reproduces the artwork from Enemy, the 2018 album by Roman rapper Noyz Narcos. It shows a zombie-like skull with red eyes beneath a green military helmet, accompanied by the word “Enemy”.
Naples tattoo artist Salvatore Ariemma, known as Erot Tattoo, shared photographs and videos of the work, including the initial sketch, footage after the session and a selfie with Manna. Ariemma described the process as taking the Enemy cover “from artwork to skin”, while noting that the client was someone every Napoli supporter would recognise.
A personal image with a combative theme
The album cover was created by graphic artist Scarful. Its visual language combines horror-film references, 1980s imagery and the style of graffiti once painted on American military equipment. The helmet is based on the M1 model worn by US troops during the Vietnam War.
The choice also reflects the tone of the title track, whose lyrics revolve around endurance, confrontation and pursuing an objective despite obstacles. Manna, whose work at Napoli involves the constant pressures of recruitment, planning and boardroom decisions, has chosen to carry that imagery in a particularly visible personal statement.
Napoli supporters split online
The response among supporters was predictably mixed. Fans of Noyz Narcos welcomed the unexpected connection between the Napoli director and the rapper’s work, with some saying the tattoo had changed their view of Manna.
Others used the viral images to revisit frustrations around Napoli’s transfer business. Comments questioned why the director had time for a tattoo rather than signings, while another referred to Favasuli and suggested a “35” tattoo in relation to the reported fee paid to Udinese for Lorenzo Lucca. One supporter also contrasted the current market with the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Naples.
A Juventus-era tattoo already known to fans
This is not the first tattoo of Manna’s to draw attention. During the celebrations for Napoli’s fourth Scudetto, he appeared in a T-shirt and revealed a bicep design featuring the logo of the Drughi, an organised Juventus supporters’ group.
Manna’s previous executive career at Juventus has long been public knowledge, and the Drughi image prompted its own debate among Napoli fans. The new tattoo has therefore added another small, personal subplot to a season in which the sporting director’s decisions are examined closely every Sunday and throughout every transfer window.
