Guinea-Bissau Call Up Álvaro Djaló for Tanzania and Nigeria Matches

Edin Terzic is set to lose Álvaro Djaló to international duty during the forthcoming break, with Guinea-Bissau calling the winger for two late-September fixtures.

Djaló has been selected for matches against Tanzania on 25 September and Nigeria four days later, taking him away from his club just as the domestic calendar pauses across Europe.

The forward has had limited league involvement so far. His only appearance came as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Spain call-ups also expected

Terzic could be without three more members of his squad over the same period. World Cup winners Unai Simón, Aymeric Laporte and Nico Williams are all expected to receive Spain invitations from Luis de la Fuente.

Spain begin their Nations League campaign with four matches: one against England, one against the Czech Republic and two meetings with Croatia. De la Fuente is due to announce his squad on Friday.

The international window will therefore remove several senior options from Terzic’s group, with Djaló travelling to represent Guinea-Bissau while the Spanish contingent are likely to join their national side for the opening Nations League programme.
