“The Ballon d’Or is not in my hands,” Kane said. “It is all down to the people who vote. For me, last season is over now. My focus is on this season, and I am excited to find out what else I can achieve.”
The winner will be announced at the official Ballon d’Or ceremony on 26 October. Kane’s challenge comes in a field that includes Mbappé, one of Ligue 1’s defining figures before his move to Real Madrid, and Barcelona’s Yamal.
