From FIFA’s Zurich headquarters, Gianni Infantino has addressed all 211 member associations after plans linked to the privatisation of World Cup competitions failed to move forward.
A letter to every member association
The FIFA president wrote directly to the federation’s full membership, setting out his position following the unsuccessful attempt to privatise the World Cups.

Infantino said he was open to an “independent review”, signalling that FIFA could permit an outside examination in the wake of the failed proposal.
The message places the issue before the entire international federation network, from the largest football nations to smaller associations across every confederation, as FIFA considers its next steps around its flagship tournaments.
