Inter in Advanced Talks With Barilla Over Pasta Partnership

Inter’s commercial season is gathering another strand, with Barilla in advanced discussions to become the club’s official pasta partner. The agreement has not yet been completed, but the prospect carries a particular Italian resonance: a household name associated with the country abroad could soon be tied to the Nerazzurri’s expanding international profile.

The coach and the club

This would mark Barilla’s return to team football sponsorship after a long absence. The company remains closely linked in football memory to Roma’s shirts during the 1980s, but has since concentrated on partnerships with individual sporting figures, including Roger Federer, Federica Pellegrini and Kaká.

Its possible arrival at Inter would not be comparable in financial scale to the club’s principal kit agreements. Yet the value would extend beyond the immediate commercial terms. Barilla’s standing as one of Italy’s best-known brands overseas would give the partnership a symbolic weight, while offering Inter another recognisable name within its wider business strategy.

A growing commercial picture

Inter recently introduced BBVA as a global partner and new sleeve sponsor. That deal lifted the annual overall value of the club’s shirt sponsorship package to €72 million.

A Barilla agreement would sit alongside that progress rather than replace any part of the match-kit structure. For Inter, it would represent another step in building commercial connections around a club increasingly intent on strengthening its profile beyond the Sunday fixture list.
