San Siro hosts a Champions League night on 13 October as Inter Milan welcome Club Brugge, with the Italian side turning to their established attacking partnership of Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram for a 21:00 kick-off.
Inter begin at home with a team built around experience through the middle and pace in the wide areas. Josep Martínez starts in goal behind a back three of Yann Bisseck, Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni. Andy Diouf and Federico Dimarco provide the width, while Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Piotr Zieliński form the central midfield unit.
Up front, Thuram joins Lautaro, Inter’s principal penalty-area threat. The Argentine forward remains the reference point for the Nerazzurri attack, valued for his movement and his finishing when chances arrive inside the box.
Club Brugge arrive with a side prepared to test Inter rather than simply absorb pressure. Sommer is selected in goal, with Kyriani Sabbe, Jorne Spileers, Brandon Mechele and Joaquin Seys across the defence. The visitors’ midfield includes Carlos Forbs, Hugo Vetlesen, Hans Vanaken, Aleksandar Stankovic Potts and Jan Virgili, supporting Nicolo Tresoldi.
Virgili, the young winger known from LaLiga, has been handed a starting place for Brugge. His willingness to take defenders on and repeatedly seek one-versus-one situations will face a demanding examination against Inter’s defensive structure at San Siro.
Rohit Saggi has been appointed referee for the match.
