From St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda have found an emphatic response in the Concacaf Nations League under Mexican coach Jacques Passy. The Benna Boys swept aside Anguilla 5-0 in their second League C Group B outing of the 2026-27 competition, with every goal arriving before half-time.

Passy’s side were ahead inside the opening minute through Christopher Douglas, who added his second goal in the 21st minute. Dion Pereira had already struck in the 16th, before D’Andre Bishop and Kayonte George completed the first-half scoring on 35 and 43 minutes respectively.
Antigua and Barbuda controlled the match throughout, finishing with 74 per cent possession and 24 attempts on goal. The result offered a sharp turnaround after a 1-0 defeat to Aruba in the team’s opening fixture.
Aruba, Anguilla and Antigua and Barbuda make up League C Group B. The Caribbean side are pursuing a route into the next stage, with each League C group winner progressing to the Championship alongside the strongest runner-up.
Passy’s Caribbean assignment
Born in Mexico City on 30 September 1975, Passy took charge of Antigua and Barbuda in April 2025. He was initially presented as interim coach of the senior national team, but has remained in the post and is listed by FIFA as the men’s national-team manager.
His coaching career began at Dorados de Sinaloa in Mexico before moving into international football across the Concacaf region. He has previously managed Saint Kitts and Nevis, as well as the Dominican Republic’s under-23 and senior national sides.
The five-goal victory over Anguilla gives Passy’s current project fresh momentum after the setback against Aruba, as Antigua and Barbuda seek a more prominent place in this edition of the Nations League.
