New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is questionable to return after suffering a left knee injury early in Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Dart injured on opening possession
- Facing third-and-8 on the Giants’ first drive, Dart dropped back and tried to push a deep throw downfield while under pressure.
- Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart converged on the second-year quarterback as he released the incompletion.
- Stewart’s momentum drove into Dart and forced the quarterback’s left knee inward during the hit.
- Dart immediately reached for his knee after the play. Giants medical personnel checked on him before he walked to the sideline without assistance.
- He then entered the blue medical tent and later went to the locker room for additional evaluation.
Winston takes over
Jameis Winston entered the game in relief of Dart while New York evaluated its starting quarterback.
Before leaving the contest, Dart completed 3 of 5 passes for 20 yards. The Giants have listed him as questionable to return.
