Three teams will enter Sunday’s slate with significant injury questions, with the New York Jets ruled out of several offensive options, the Washington Commanders preparing to start a quarterback other than Jayden Daniels, and the Miami Dolphins expecting to have key contributors available against Minnesota.
Daniels sidelined for Commanders
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts because of a left elbow injury. Washington will have to adjust its offensive plan without its starting passer for the matchup.
The Commanders received better news on two other starters. Tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo, who has been dealing with a hamstring issue, is expected to play. Linebacker Frankie Luvu is also expected to be available despite a groin injury.
Jets lose Hall and three more players
The Jets will be without running back Breece Hall when they face the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Hall has been ruled out with a knee injury, removing a major piece of New York’s backfield and offensive attack.
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell will miss the game with a finger injury, while tight end Mason Taylor has been ruled out because of a thumb injury. Guard Dylan Parham is also unavailable with a knee issue.
Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa will not play because of a quadriceps injury. Edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare, meanwhile, was set to have limited participation in Friday’s practice as he works through a knee problem.
Dolphins expect Wright and Brewer to play
Miami is expected to have running back Jaylen Wright available for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Wright has been managing a foot injury but is projected to play.
Center Aaron Brewer is likewise expected to suit up despite a hand injury, giving the Dolphins continuity on the interior of their offensive line.
Miami will be without wide receiver Caleb Douglas, who has an ankle injury, and edge rusher Robert Beal Jr., who was ruled out with a hamstring issue.
