As France left for Brussels on Saturday morning, Kylian Mbappé was already heading in the opposite direction after a painful end to his decisive night against Turkey.

Mbappé has withdrawn from the France squad after injuring his left knee during Friday’s UEFA Nations League win over Turkey.
The France captain scored the only goal in the 1-0 victory before being forced off. He left the team hotel on Saturday following discussions between France’s medical department and Real Madrid’s staff.
He has now been released to his club, with Real Madrid taking charge of his recovery and assessment.
France coach Zinédine Zidane will not call up a replacement for the forward. Zidane has already had to alter his initial selection because of injuries and will continue the international window with the remaining players.
France’s next appointment
The rest of the France squad travelled to Brussels on Saturday ahead of Monday’s Nations League meeting with Belgium, scheduled to kick off at 20:45.
Les Bleus are due to train behind closed doors at Union Saint-Gilloise’s training centre at 19:00 on Saturday as preparations continue without their captain.
