Lecce vs Bologna: Palladino’s Rossoblù Seek Vital Serie A Response

Bologna return to the Serie A stage after three weeks on the training ground, carrying the weight of a difficult opening to Raffaele Palladino’s spell. With two points from their first matches and second from bottom of the table, the Rossoblù travel to Lecce for a Sunday afternoon that offers both sides a chance to put needed distance between themselves and the lower reaches.

The coach and the club

Palladino’s Bologna face Lecce at the Via del Mare on Sunday 11 October, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00. Luca Pairetto of Nichelino has been appointed referee for the sixth-round fixture.

The break has given Bologna time to work, but their league position makes the return an important moment. Lecce, coached by Eusebio Di Francesco, are also pursuing points of consequence in the standings, ensuring that this is more than a routine early-season meeting.

The match will be shown live exclusively by DAZN for subscribers.

Team news and likely selections

Di Francesco is expected to set Lecce up in a 4-3-3, with Wladimiro Falcone in goal. Danilo Veiga, Kialonda Gaspar? No—Siebert and Tiago Gabriel are the anticipated central defensive pairing, with Antonino Gallo on the left. Coulibaly, Ilic and Maleh are in line for midfield duties, behind Pierotti, Guebbels and Fatah.

Lecce will be without Scott, Berisha and Stulic. Bleve, Borbei, Dembélé, Gaspar, Jean, Ndaba, Fofana, Gandelman, Kaba, Ngom, Gorter, Monteiro, N’Dri and Esteban are available to the coach.

Bologna’s probable shape is a 3-4-2-1. Lukasz Skorupski should start behind Helland, Heggem and Theate, while Zortea and Miranda are expected to operate either side of Ferguson and Pobega. Orsolini and Cambiaghi could support Piccoli in attack.

Palladino cannot call on Holm, Odgaard or Mbangula. His available alternatives include Pessina, Happonen, Casale, Alhassane, De Silvestri, Darmian, Vitik, Moro, Amondarain, El Azzouzi, Libra, Dovbyk, Bernardeschi and Enem.
