Levante and Sevilla Share Six Goals in Wild 3-3 Stoppage-Time Draw

Under the lights at Estadi Ciutat de València, a match that seemed settled twice erupted into a stoppage-time storm, as Levante and Sevilla shared six goals and a red card in a 3-3 draw.

The football news

Sevilla had arrived for the eighth round of the La Liga season in the European places, while Levante were in the relegation zone, but the gap in the table disappeared during a remarkable finish that ran beyond the 100th minute.

The visitors made an early statement through Scottish summer signing Robbie Ure, who struck in the 13th minute. Former Lille player Felix Correia appeared to put Sevilla in control shortly after the interval, doubling the advantage in the 54th minute.

Levante responded three minutes later. Iván Romero, continuing a run of three goals across his previous three matches, reduced the deficit and gave Luis Castro’s side a route back into the contest.

Then came the late chaos. Adrian Dela, pushed forward in search of an equaliser, volleyed Levante level in the second minute of added time.

Sevilla believed they had won it when Isaac Romero fired a powerful left-footed effort in the 95th minute. But the 26-year-old forward was dismissed moments later after receiving a second yellow card in four minutes. His gesture telling the crowd to be quiet was judged to be provocative.

With a numerical advantage, Levante found one final answer. Eighteen-year-old Ifeanyi Ndukwe scored his first La Liga goal in the 100th minute, securing a point in a match containing three goals after the 90-minute mark.

The result leaves both sides with a night they will not forget quickly: Sevilla having let a two-goal lead slip, and Levante having twice refused to accept defeat.
