Liam Rosenior Confronts Strasbourg Fans After Paris FC’s 2-0 Win

Paris FC had already settled the score on the pitch, beating Strasbourg 2-0 at Jean-Bouin, but the final whistle did not end the afternoon’s tension. Liam Rosenior, targeted by visiting supporters during the second half, became involved in a confrontation near the away section after the match.

Quick facts

  • Paris FC defeated Strasbourg 2-0 on Saturday at Stade Jean-Bouin.
  • Rosenior was abused by Strasbourg supporters for several minutes during the second half.
  • The Paris FC coach celebrated in front of the travelling end after full-time.
  • Strasbourg players Högsberg and Doukouré approached him before staff, players and security intervened.
  • Rosenior was previously Strasbourg coach before leaving for Chelsea in January.

The English coach had been jeered even before kick-off, with his name loudly whistled by the Strasbourg contingent. The hostility continued during the game, despite a controlled Paris FC performance that produced a deserved two-goal victory.

At the end, Rosenior walked towards the part of the ground housing the visiting fans and marked the win with gestures clearly aimed in their direction. His reaction followed the abuse he had received from the stand during the second half.

Högsberg and Doukouré then moved towards the Paris FC manager, sparking a heated melee involving players, coaching staff and security personnel from both clubs. Rosenior was eventually pulled away from the crowd.

He then continued his lap of acknowledgement around Jean-Bouin, smiling as he greeted other sections of the stadium, before joining Paris FC’s Ultras Lutetia supporters.

Rosenior’s departure from Strasbourg in January, when he joined Chelsea, remains a raw subject for sections of the Racing support. Both clubs are owned by BlueCo, and the coach’s return to face his former side ended with three points for Paris FC and an ugly post-match flashpoint.
