Lucas Gourna-Douath Unharmed After Car Accident at Hull Training Ground

The narrow approach to Hull City’s training ground caused another scare on Thursday, but Lucas Gourna-Douath emerged unharmed and trained as normal afterwards.

The 23-year-old French midfielder was involved in a low-speed car accident outside the club’s training complex. Travelling at around 25 km/h, Gourna-Douath was not injured and was able to join the session that followed without restriction.

No other vehicle was involved in the incident, which occurred in the same area where Hull teammate Sorba Thomas had an accident on 11 September. The Wales international, formerly of Nantes, was also caught up in an incident on the particularly tight stretch of road near the training base.

Road works planned after second incident

Local authorities are expected to carry out resurfacing work in the area in an effort to reduce the risk of further accidents on the narrow road.

Gourna-Douath joined Hull during the summer from Red Bull Salzburg after spending last season in Ligue 1 with Le Havre, where he played on loan. Thursday’s incident brought an anxious moment for the former French youth international, but there were no physical consequences and he remains available for Hull.
