In Uruguay’s sky-blue training colours, a familiar exchange brought together two generations of the national side’s attack: Luis Suárez responded to Diego Forlán’s eye-catching finishes in a Celeste practice session with a joke aimed at the goalkeepers.

Forlán, the former Uruguay forward, found the net with a series of impressive strikes during training. Suárez, known as El Pistolero, reacted with amusement and suggested that the goalkeepers might be letting the shots in.
The light-hearted comment underlined the continuing connection between two of Uruguay’s most recognisable forwards, both pictured in the national team’s traditional light-blue kit.
