Giovanni Malagò has urged restraint after Juventus were fined €10,000 over events during the minute’s silence for Mazzola at the Allianz Stadium, insisting that the conduct of a small number should not define either an entire crowd or the club itself.
Malagò calls for proportion after Juventus sanction
Speaking in Rapallo after receiving an award from Panathlon International, the FIGC president addressed the disciplinary response to the incident in Turin. Juventus were handed a €10,000 penalty, but Malagò declined to go beyond the ruling already made.

Italy look towards September tests
Malagò also turned his attention to Roberto Mancini’s Italy, who are preparing for two upcoming international fixtures. The national side will face Belgium on 25 September before meeting Turkey three days later, on 28 September.
The FIGC president offered a short but clear message before those matches: “I am optimistic by nature, but above all we all need to be optimistic.”
A busy moment for the federation
The Juventus disciplinary case and Italy’s approaching schedule have brought two different demands for the federation: maintaining the standards around the domestic game while supporting the national team as it enters its next appointments.
For Malagò, the response to the Turin incident has already been sufficiently firm. The next focus is on Mancini’s side and the September dates against Belgium and Turkey.
