Manchester United’s early-season troubles followed them to Leeds, where a 1-1 draw left Michael Carrick without a win in six matches in all competitions and the club sitting 13th in the Premier League table.
It was a game split neatly in two. United had the better of the opening spell and went ahead through Bryan Mbeumo after 35 minutes, but Leeds found their response after the interval. Dominic Calvert-Lewin levelled in the 51st minute and Carrick’s side could not produce the moment needed to take all three points.
A run that has stalled United
The draw extends a difficult sequence for Carrick, the former United midfielder now under increasing pressure after a winless run stretching across three competitions.

One half each at Elland Road
United’s first-half work was rewarded when Mbeumo put them ahead, but the advantage did not last long after the restart. Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser gave Leeds the lift they needed and left the visitors searching for a breakthrough that never arrived.
There was little else in the way of decisive attacking play from Carrick’s team as the match settled into a stalemate. For United, the point does little to alter the wider picture: the league position remains low, the campaign has yet to find its rhythm, and the fixtures do not pause for sympathy.

United now turn to the Champions League, with Italian side Como next on the schedule. Carrick will need a response quickly, with the winless sequence becoming a heavier burden each week and a 13th-place league standing offering little shelter.
