The match closes the fifth round of the French season and is scheduled for 20:45 on Sunday. Tickets remained available across several areas of the stadium at the start of the week, an unusual situation for a fixture normally booked out well in advance.

High prices appear to be one factor behind the slower sales, while Marseille’s difficult start has done little to lift the mood. Bruno Genesio’s side are 13th and have taken only one victory from their opening four league games.
That win was emphatic, a 4-0 success over Strasbourg. Since then, Amine Gouiri and his team-mates have lost 2-0 at Monaco, fallen 3-2 at home to Paris FC and been beaten 1-0 at Rennes.
Marseille have scored only twice during that three-game losing run. The prospect of facing Luis Enrique’s European champions has therefore brought anxiety as well as anticipation among parts of the home support.
The summer also left scars. Financial pressure forced Marseille to part with several experienced players, while the club did not bring in any new signings, leaving some regular Velodrome attendees disillusioned before the season had properly settled.
There is another task before Paris arrive. Marseille begin their Europa League campaign away to Besiktas in Turkey on Thursday night, while PSG can focus exclusively on their journey to the Velodrome.
