Michael Olise Stars as France Thrash Belgium 4-1 Under Zidane

Michael Olise lit up the Stade de France on Monday night, scoring twice and supplying an assist as France swept Belgium aside 4-1 to close Zinédine Zidane’s first international gathering in charge.

The Bayern Munich winger was central to another convincing French response after entering the match from the bench. Désiré Doué and Rayan Cherki, also introduced during the game, completed the scoring as Les Bleus turned their substitutes into decisive weapons against their Belgian rivals.

Olise’s influence keeps growing

Olise’s brace and assist took his contribution for France this year to involvement in 17 goals. His display against Belgium underlined his growing importance in a forward line that also benefited from the impact of Doué and Cherki.

All three scorers came on during the match, giving Zidane a powerful finish to his first camp at the helm. The 4-1 result followed France’s earlier 2-1 victory over Belgium in the same Nations League group.

France lead Nations League Group 1

The two-time world champions have made an unbeaten start to their Nations League campaign and sit first in Group 1 with 10 points.

  • France 1-0 Turkey
  • France 2-1 Belgium
  • France 1-1 Italy
  • France 4-1 Belgium

With three wins and one draw from their opening four fixtures, France have set the early pace in the group. Monday’s commanding win, driven by Olise’s attacking output, ensured Zidane’s opening international window ended on a high in Saint-Denis.
