Mikel Arteta Extends Arsenal Contract Until 2030

In north London, Arsenal have chosen continuity as the next chapter of their project, extending Mikel Arteta’s stay at the club until June 2030. The Spanish coach signed his new agreement on Wednesday morning, committing his future to the side he has led since December 2019.

A longer stay in north London

The new deal is reported to include a substantial pay increase and covers Arteta’s entire coaching staff, preserving the group that has overseen Arsenal’s rise during his time in charge.

  • Arteta’s contract now runs through to June 2030.
  • The Spanish manager has been Arsenal coach since December 2019.
  • The extension also includes his backroom team.
  • His revised terms are understood to bring a significant salary increase.

Arteta sees more to come

Arteta described the agreement as an honour and stressed the bond formed between the club, its staff and its supporters during his spell in the capital.

“It is a privilege to commit my future to this club and to keep working alongside exceptional people who want the very best for Arsenal,” he said. “We have created a special connection and memories that will last a lifetime. The exciting part is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together.”

A title-winning foundation

After a little more than six years at Arsenal, Arteta guided the club to its first Premier League championship in 22 years last season. The renewed contract places him at the centre of the club’s plans well beyond that long-awaited domestic breakthrough.
