For Lecce, the defeat underlined the difficulty of surviving at San Siro when forced into a reactive game for 90 minutes. Their improved start to the second half did not last once Rabiot doubled Milan’s advantage, and the final stages belonged entirely to the hosts.
The 3-0 scoreline provided a fitting result on the weekend celebrating 100 years of the stadium known as the Scala del Calcio. Milan left the Meazza with three important points and a clearer position near the top of the Serie A table.
