Milan reached the first international break with a clear lift in mood, ending a run of draws against Juventus and Lazio by beating Lecce 3-0 at San Siro. Amorim’s side have collected 11 points from their opening five Serie A matches and sit alone in fifth place ahead of the next round, when Sassuolo visit on Sunday 11 October.
The Lecce victory gave the Rossoneri a firmer platform after two demanding league tests, while also underlining how several members of the squad have made an early contribution. The strongest individual fantasy-rating returns among players assessed in at least three matches reflect a group in which substitutes, new signings and returning players have all found a role.
Moreira changes the picture from the bench
Diego Moreira has produced the standout figures, with an average fantasy score of 9.83. The Belgian has scored three times across Milan’s last two matches, with every one of those goals coming after he entered as a substitute.
His start had been difficult against Juventus, but he then played an important part in the recovery against Lazio before adding to the convincing result over Lecce. In a short opening stretch, Moreira has become one of the most decisive options available to Amorim during games.
Rabiot and Cisse add goals from midfield
Adrien Rabiot is next in the early rankings on 8.2, having already registered three attacking returns: two goals and one assist. His output has given Milan both reliability and production in the opening five rounds.
Alphadjo Cisse follows with a 7.88 average and has emerged as one of the surprises of Milan’s season so far. The 2006-born player has scored twice, making an immediate impression in a side still taking shape under its coach.
Ramos and Chukwueze provide further encouragement
Summer arrival Gonçalo Ramos is fourth among Milan’s leading performers, with a fantasy average of 7. The Portuguese forward has contributed one goal and one assist during the early part of the campaign.
Samuel Chukwueze completes the top five on 6.7. Back at Milanello after his loan spell at Fulham, he has supplied two assists and offered another positive note before the league resumes.
Milan now return from the break with Sassuolo next on the calendar, carrying the confidence of a three-goal home win and an early league position that leaves them well placed for the next phase of the championship.
