Milan Thrash Salzburg 4-0 as Cisse Hits Double and Ramos Scores

Milan answered their difficult Europa League opening against Benfica with a commanding night in Salzburg, winning 4-0 at the Red Bull Arena and restoring momentum to their European campaign. Amorim’s side settled the contest before the interval through two Cisse goals, then removed any remaining uncertainty early in the second half before Gonçalo Ramos completed the scoring.

A forceful response in Salzburg

The Rossoneri approached the match with clear purpose, pressing Salzburg high from the opening minutes and making the home side uncomfortable in possession. That early aggression produced the breakthrough after 15 minutes.

  • Adrien Rabiot won the ball while pressing and released Hutchinson.
  • Hutchinson delivered an accurate cross for Cisse, who headed Milan in front.
  • Salzburg attempted a response, but Milan retained control of the match.

Cisse struck again in the 32nd minute. Bartesaghi supplied the ball with a left-footed first-time delivery and the forward reacted quickly to make it 2-0. Salzburg appeared increasingly subdued as Milan took their advantage into half-time.

Cisse completes his treble

Any hope of an Austrian recovery disappeared five minutes after the restart. Rabiot again played a decisive part, choosing the unselfish pass for Cisse, who converted for his third goal of the evening.

There was a brief question over the attacker’s position, but VAR confirmed the goal and Milan’s 3-0 lead stood. From that point, the visitors were able to manage the occasion comfortably, with Amorim using his bench and rotating his side around the hour mark.

Ramos adds a fourth, though Terracciano sees red

Among the attacking changes, young Camarda made way for Gonçalo Ramos. The substitute made his contribution in the 72nd minute, scoring Milan’s fourth to put the final touch on an emphatic collective performance.

The only blemish came near the end. Terracciano was shown a straight red card after bringing down Schmid as the last defender, following a defensive lapse from Milan.

  • Venue: Red Bull Arena, Salzburg
  • Final score: Salzburg 0-4 Milan
  • Milan scorers: Cisse 15’, 32’, 50’; Gonçalo Ramos 72’
  • Late incident: Terracciano sent off for denying Schmid as last man

Despite that late dismissal, Milan left Salzburg with their first Europa League victory, a result built on their early pressure, Cisse’s clinical finishing and a controlled response after the disappointment of Benfica.
