Paris Saint-Germain turned a cold night at the Campus PSG into a one-sided European statement, sweeping aside Belgian side Louvain 5-0 in the second matchday of the Women’s Champions League league phase. Naomie Feller, watched by France coach Laurent Bonadei after being left out of the latest national squad, drove the performance from the left wing.
Feller leads Paris rout
The former Real Madrid forward, signed by PSG during the summer, had a hand in four of the five goals. Her speed and direct running repeatedly opened up Louvain’s defence, while Paris played without injured attackers Romée Leuchter and Merveille Kanjinga.
- Feller created the opening goal in the ninth minute, delivering a cross for Jennifer Echegini Ajibade to finish from a central position.
- Three minutes later, defensive midfielder Hawa Sangaré Osteras struck the crossbar with a fierce effort. Under strong competition for the holding role, she produced another assured display after her performance in Madrid.
- Feller made it 2-0 in the 51st minute, reacting sharply to score from a loose second ball.
- She added her second goal 13 minutes later, again arriving in the right area to convert after Louvain failed to clear.
- Feller then released Sakina Karchaoui for PSG’s fourth, completing her fourth decisive involvement of the evening.
- Substitute Yaya completed the scoring in the 84th minute.
A first European win since 2024
The result ended a long wait for a PSG victory in the Champions League. Their previous win in the competition had come on 28 March 2024, when they beat Häcken 3-0 in a quarter-final.
Paulo Cesar’s team could have added further goals, with the Ultras providing the noise around the training-ground venue as Paris controlled the match from start to finish. The 5-0 scoreline nevertheless gives PSG a timely lift before a far more demanding run of fixtures against Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
