Napoli will be without Costantino Favasuli after the defender sustained a right-thigh injury while representing Italy Under-21 against Armenia.
The club confirmed that Favasuli suffered a second-degree tear of the rectus femoris muscle during the international fixture. He had left the Italy Under-21 camp earlier in the day before Napoli issued its medical update.
Rehabilitation begins at Napoli training centre
Favasuli is due to begin his rehabilitation programme at the SSC Napoli Training Center from Wednesday.
No expected return date was included in the club’s statement, leaving Napoli to assess his progress over the coming weeks as the season resumes.
Ahanor joins the group
While Favasuli starts his recovery, Ahanor has returned to Napoli and joined the squad after completing his national-team commitments under Mancini.
