Napoli have returned to Castel Volturno with little time to dwell on the heavy defeat at Venezia, as Tuesday’s Champions League meeting with Bodo/Glimt at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona now shapes the immediate response.
The European fixture will kick off at 21:00, only two days after the match at the Penzo, placing the emphasis on recovery as Massimiliano Allegri’s side seek to regroup in front of their own supporters.
Recovery work after Venezia defeat
The players who started against Venezia completed recovery exercises on Sunday. The remainder of the squad followed an individual programme before moving into aerobic work at the SSC Napoli Training Center.
Allegri was not present for the session after being affected by flu symptoms. Napoli did not indicate whether the coach’s condition would affect his preparations for the Bodo/Glimt match.
The visit of the Norwegian side arrives at an important point in Napoli’s season: a quick opportunity to answer a difficult domestic afternoon, but also a demanding European appointment that leaves little room for extended reflection.
