Napoli Lose Badiashile and Spinazzola to Muscle Injuries

Napoli’s demanding autumn has brought an immediate cost after the match against Roma, with Benoît Badiashile and Leonardo Spinazzola both ruled out by muscle injuries at a point when Massimiliano Allegri’s side are preparing for a tight run of Serie A and Champions League fixtures.

Injuries reshape Napoli’s immediate plans

The club received encouraging news on Amir Rrahmani, who has resumed regular training with the squad. The update, however, was overshadowed by the medical results for Badiashile and Spinazzola following Saturday’s game.

  1. Napoli returned to training ahead of Wednesday’s league visit to Monza, scheduled for 20:45 at the Brianteo. The morning session included activation work and technical-tactical exercises.
  2. Rrahmani trained with the group, offering Allegri a potential defensive boost after his own absence.
  3. Badiashile underwent tests at Pineta Grande Hospital, which found a moderate strain in the rectus femoris of his right thigh.
  4. Spinazzola felt discomfort during the closing stages against Roma. Subsequent examinations identified a low-grade injury to the biceps femoris in his right thigh.

A month without Badiashile

Badiashile is expected to be unavailable for around a month, a spell which removes him from several defining fixtures before the November international break.

  • Monza v Napoli, Wednesday 28 October
  • Juventus v Napoli at the Allianz Stadium, Sunday 1 November
  • Porto v Napoli in the Champions League, Wednesday 4 November
  • Napoli v Lazio at the Maradona, Sunday 8 November

The French defender will also remain uncertain for Napoli’s home meeting with Torino on Saturday 21 November and the Champions League trip to Manchester City on Tuesday 24 November. A more realistic target for his return is the away match against Sassuolo towards the end of November.

Spinazzola faces a shorter recovery

Spinazzola’s expected absence is closer to two weeks. He will certainly miss the trips to Monza and Juventus, as well as the European appointment in Porto.

His availability for Lazio remains in doubt, but the international break should give him sufficient time to complete his recovery and return to Allegri’s options for Torino. Napoli will therefore approach the next stretch with fewer choices, while Rrahmani’s return to full group work becomes particularly important in maintaining continuity through a crowded part of the season.
