In Barcelona, memories of the 2015 treble still carry the sound of a side that reached Europe’s summit in Berlin. A newly shown clip from Neymar’s Netflix documentary has brought back one private moment from that season: Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar celebrating together after the club’s Champions League final victory over Juventus.
The news from the club
The footage appears while Neymar scrolls through photographs and videos stored on his phone. It shows Barcelona’s celebrated South American front three at an indoor celebration following the 3-1 win over Juventus at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
Messi, Suárez and Neymar are dressed formally, although each has added colourful party accessories, including hats and scarves. Neymar says the three were drunk, and laughs at the sight of Messi dancing in a manner supporters rarely saw in public.
“Look at Messi dancing — he was never like that,” Neymar says while playing the clip. “Suárez, Messi and me, the three of us drunk. It is wonderful.”
The images have resurfaced amid renewed attention on Messi’s Argentina farewell, offering an unusually informal glimpse of the forward after Barcelona secured their fifth European Cup.
A defining Barcelona partnership
Messi, Neymar and Suárez formed one of Barcelona’s most productive attacking units, with the Argentine, Brazilian and Uruguayan sharing the side for just over three years. Their spell delivered 10 official trophies.
- UEFA Champions League: 2014-15
- FIFA Club World Cup: 2015
- La Liga: 2014-15 and 2015-16
- UEFA Super Cup: 2015
- Spanish Super Cup: 2016
- Copa del Rey: 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17
The Berlin final remains the clearest landmark of that period. Barcelona overcame Juventus 3-1 in Germany, and the documentary clip captures the celebration that followed for the trio known simply as MSN.
