Objects Thrown After Mbappé Seals Real Madrid Win at Barcelona

At Camp Nou, a late Real Madrid winner turned Sunday’s Clásico into a tense final stretch, with objects thrown from the stands after Kylian Mbappé sealed a 2-1 away victory in the 10th round of LaLiga.

A security stoppage after Madrid’s decisive goal

Mbappé struck again in the 87th minute, finishing a low cross from Eduardo Camavinga after Jude Bellingham had begun the move. As Real Madrid’s players celebrated, projectiles came from the northern section of the stadium, an area largely occupied by Barcelona supporters.

  • A water bottle and a soft-drink can were recorded among the items thrown.
  • Video footage also showed further objects, including flags, directed towards the visiting players.
  • Referee Juan Martínez Munuera noted the incident in his match report and activated the stadium safety procedure.

The first stage of the protocol consisted of a public-address warning inside Camp Nou. Play was stopped for one minute and 20 seconds before restarting, and no further similar incidents were reported before full time.

Mbappé delivers the difference

The French forward had already put Madrid ahead shortly before the interval, scoring in the 41st minute. Barcelona found their response through Raphinha, who levelled in the 61st minute, but Mbappé’s second goal settled a contest that had appeared to be moving towards a draw.

  1. 41st minute: Mbappé gave Real Madrid the lead.
  2. 61st minute: Raphinha brought Barcelona back level.
  3. 87th minute: Mbappé converted Camavinga’s cross to secure Madrid’s win.

Pressure returns to the title race

The result ended Barcelona’s unbeaten LaLiga record. José Mourinho’s Real Madrid moved onto 24 points and remained third, while Barcelona stayed top on 27 points. The gap between the two clubs was cut to three points after a night in Catalonia that finished with Madrid celebrating and the referee’s security report becoming part of the aftermath.
